Rise of D Roadfest

It has been a great pleasure for me to take part in activities provided by the Korean Tourism Organization (KTO) as member of 3rd K-POP Supporter group. I was so excited to see the KTO events after the welcome of 3rd K-POP supporter with an exciting performance Kaboom! in the jongro-3ga area along with award ceremony for the last year top 10 bloggers/supporters. I’m happy to say there were (3) three Pakistani guys and two of them are at top of the list for last year blogger/supporter. K-POP deeply impacted not even the lives of Korean people but also “influence” in the lives of the foreigners as well while living in Korea. I do not know advertisement, store, café, and restaurant without at least one K-Pop song or celebrity connected. Instead of interest it makes avoidance.

Recently, I had a chance to watch a series of exciting performances called Rise of D Roadfest 2014 on 12th April 2014 at MUV Hall in Seokyo-dong, Seoul.
It's such a wonderful and crazy night! J J J J J
That was my first heavy metal experience of life. J J J J J J J J J J

Definitely it was not the typical style performance to see in Korea, it was a Rock metal concert. It was exciting eye-opening performances to change mindset because whenever I think of music in Korea, I think of Korean K-POP. K-POP extensively listens across the country and I believe it’s hard to think outside its scope in terms of other categories. But here across the Korea, K-POP deeply impacted not even the lives of Korean people but also “influence” in the lives of the foreigners as well while living in Korea. I do not know advertisement, store, café, and restaurant without at least one K-Pop song or celebrity connected. I remember the Gangnam style international presence over the years was an example of attachment and their esteemed love. With that said, I was astonished to experience metal music in Korea. I knew that it existed, but it was more underground and appealed to a niche market. I surprised to see Korean people nodding and bangin’ their heads to ear-deafening metal music.

The Satellights Rock Core K-POP music.

NoEazy Metal Core K-POP music.

Transfixion  Hard Core Music

Diablo simply the best.

"SILENT Y" American Style rock music.

Above are some reflections of  "Rise of D Roadfest". The crowd was mediocre in size, but the energy they had was intense. The line up included Satellights, NoEazy, Transfixion, Diablo, NATY, Silent Y. Some bands had a serious metal feel such as Diablo while others weren’t as metal such as NATY. Overall, the music had scream-o-elements as well. My favorite was probably the very last performance given by Silent Y. Apparently they were different but had really americano styles. They were playing actual rock n’ roll, and I almost felt like I almost knew all. It was a great feeling! There was even some mosh pitting, which was hilarious!

At the very end, there were raffle with chance to win interesting prices, but luck was on side of other visitor.

The festival was the end of most exciting moments in Korea. It is not definitely last visit of MUV hall and or other similar place around Hongdae.

When: April 12, 2014
Where: Yes 24 MUV Hall, Hongdae, Seoul
Type: Metal and Hard Rock Festival
Best: All – Naty-Silent Eye-Diablo-Black Syndrome

Recommendation: Rockers, heavy metal fans, also many other one to explore awareness that K-Pop is not music either culture
