"KABOOM" A fusion of past in presnt

….. !! KABOOM !! …..
!1 KABOOM !!

"KABOOM" A fusion of past in present

"KABOOM  케쎄라쎄라"  is a surprising performance along with creativity of "KOLLEEN PARK", who not only provide a single platform of entertainment but also bring the past with present. The show was designed for entertainment in four categories:

Va Va Voom - "Female trio that touches the soul, fusion Korean classical music"
Morning of Owl - "World's number 1 B-boy team"
Magic Trunk - "Storytelling magic show"
PID (Performance in the Darkness) - "You can't take your eyes off it, black light laser performance!"

It was Saturday, June 7 2014, when i had opportunity to watch the KABOOM along with my best buddy. Thanks for Korea Tourism organization for providing us a remarkable opportunity to enjoy the artistic performance with fusion of Korean traditional music.

"Va Va Voom"

Va Va Voom accompanying with the recorded K-pop instrumentals giving a astonishing performance on traditional zithers and drums, switching instruments, playing to the crowd and performing well. The performance and great source of recreation for traditional music lovers with modern beat.

Kaboom was not only music but also about the dance. Morning of Owl offered some impressive b-boy skills comprises with their specific break dance that was occasionally combined with traditional tunes. They are a talented potential professional mixing the Korean traditional beats and music with the frenzied spins, kicks and body pops.

"Magic Trunk"

Magic Trunk managed to combine a simple tragic story with some old tricks done well. Nothing new or original for magic fans, but they pulled off each trick with panache and it's always great to see quick changes and other flashy routines done with style.

PID were the showstoppers. An exciting team of night offering different dance sequences but no doubt they stolen the show with their fabulous performance, sparkling choreography and amazing creativity with use of technology. Their last but not least sequence of dancing was introducing the robotic movement into the house. I recommend PID was alone the worth of ticket price (Although I enjoyed it free).

Performance in darkness

Kaboom located at Jongo-3-ga station of subway line 1,3 & 5 along with a nice set, nicely facilitated with comfortable sound and comfortable sitting facilities according to the demand of the enjoying the thrills of music.

The real story of the show was acting different by doing their own created things and its worth taking. As Kaboom pamphlet proclaims "Forget about stories. Enjoy pure pleasure beyond your imagination" and there were indeed moments of pure pleasure in my evening, though I do wish it had been a more cohesive sequence of acts and not just a series of unrelated incidents. Thanks to KTO for making a memorable movements.

"R-16 elimination" Round Revealed

R16  Elimination Uijeongvbu Korea.
R16 elimination Korea is an annual local b-boy tournament and urban arts cultural festival. The main event features solo and crew b-boy battles. Over twenty R16 Championships take place in numerous countries around the globe to determine the competitors for the World Finals, taking place in Seoul, South Korea.

“Respect” is the enduring theme that makes the “R” in R16, and the R16 World Finals Championship is one of the most respectable sought-after titles in the street dance culture. As a street dancer, holding the R16 title opens up numerous opportunities worldwide. The first R16 took place in 2007 and the event has since encompassed all aspects of urban youth cultures; taking the street movement to a higher level.

A couple of week ago, on 14.06.14 (Saturday), I travel for Uijeongbu it was far away from the center of Seoul. A small town near capital developing itself into center for arts and culture. Thanks for Korea Tourism Organization (KTO) for giving us chance to enjoy the AMAZING performances.
As for the selection-elimination concerns, it was exciting to see every one with their maximum. But the luck goes with listing winners........
[R16 KOREA 2014 National Championship Winners]
Popping Winner: Poppin DS
Locking Winner: Locking Khan
Bboy Crew Winner: Gamblerz Crew

And the judges are:
B-boy - PHYSICX (Korea) / SNAKE (Korea) / VENUM (USA) / KATSU (Japan) / MENNO (Netherlands)
Popping - SUPER DINO (China) / POPKUN (Korea) / POPBONG (Korea)
Locking - YUKARI (Japan) / LOCK BONG (Korea) / ORIGINALITY SEO (Korea)

The performances started with popping and locking and proceeded till the b-boys crews. Passionated people enjoyed the whole performance but the b-boys crew performers was awesome. I don’t know much about b-boying, so I can’t explain all kind of technical critique, but I can say that it was really fun, and the crews put an amazing amount of creativity into each routine.

Well all i had that's the fun, and i was really glad after experience the exciting performances of R16 elimination compositions. Thanks once again for KTO for allowing me to participate as 3rd K-Performances supporter!! I hope I will follow the winners team in the R16 world finals.

"Recompose" a fantastic stage rediscovering Korean classical music

…..Recompose…..

"Recompose" a fantastic stage rediscovering Korean classical music interpreting by  the foreign composers as a great show held on 13 June 2014 at National Theater of Junh-gu, Seoul, Korea. The show was fascinated by the artistic work of world renowned four foreign composers, including Baudouin de Jaer (Belgium), Takada Midori (Japan), Michael Timpson (U.S) and Chichun Lee (Taian). Their re-composition and reinterpretation of Korean classical music with their own individual vision and demonstration in "Recompose" open a new horizon in the Korean classical music.

Welcome to Recompose.!!
The venue was Haeoreum Theater in the Main Hall Located at the National Theater of Korea in the heart of Seoul near Dongguk University Station Line: 3 exit 6.

Inside theater was excellent piece of artistic work along with excellent sitting and stage facilities.

Stage of  Recompose.!!
Ending of Heart Beat (Performance by: Michael Timpson)
Thanks to Korea Tourism organization (KTO) for providing us a fabulous opportunity to enjoy the artistic part of Korean classical music with unique interpretation of foreign composers. The concert was comprises in two parts of 45 minutes along with 20 minutes break but well arranged. The artistic work enhanced the beauty of the Korean traditional music by its beautiful melodies and fusion of traditional and modern instruments. I like this true representation and invasion of diverse cultures to others. Unfortunately, I can't enjoy all the performance as my buddy struck in the Seoul traffic because of weekend and reached late, but have hope to enjoy much more artistic work with the passage of time from the national and internal performers in near future.

Visiting Ulleungdo: Korea''s "Mysterious" Island

I started planning trip to Mysterious Island. A couple of weeks ago I was selected for a trip to Ulleungdo-DOKDO trip. With few restrictions: I have to write an easy on ecosystem and etc. I agreed because I want to explore Ulleungdo, a magically green island off Korea’s western coast, and I wanted to make a visit to the country’s most renowned island, Jeju.

Can i just live here ?
Getting to Ulleungdo proved to be much more difficult than we’d originally expected. Our trip coordinator book ferry tickets, we leave from Mukho because it is closer to both Seoul and Ulleungdo. We boarded a bus headed for Donghae at 4.AM and rush to our destination after 3.5 hour travel we reach to Mukho ferry terminal, on Monday morning we were crossing the East Sea (or Sea of Japan if you aren’t in Korea) toward this island that, from the crowd on the ferry, seemed to only be popular with Koreans between the ages of 35 and 75. This really wasn’t that surprising as most of the foreigners I’d told I was going had never heard of the island and the two things Ulleungdo is most popular for are hiking and being a gateway to the disputed-with-Japan pile of rocks known as Dokdo, both of which the aforementioned demographic holds in high regard.

Our ride to the island: the Sunflower 2.
First glimpses of the island from the ferry window.
Welcome to Mysterious Island.
The ride was uneventful, full of calm seas and Olympic highlights, and about three and a half hours later we docked in the small, but crowded, colorful harbor of Dodong-ri. I was feeling slightly panicked at this point as I was alone how I will booked my accommodation, but fortune was with me our trip organizers mange everything very great manners. We peeked into the Ulleungdo Motel and the nice manger welcome us, after having some rest and lunch. We immediately set off to explore and two things were soon apparent. The first was that Ulleungdo is incredibly Korean. Don’t expect to see any English translations or Romanizations. If you’re coming without a tour group make sure you can read Hanguel and brush up on your seafood related vocabulary. The flip side to this is that the island doesn’t see many foreign tourists and most people seemed very pleasantly surprised to see us. Everyone went out of their way to be accommodating and helpful in whatever way they could be. The second thing we learned quickly is that there isn’t much to do. Dodong-ri is a sleepy fishing village with just enough hotels and small, family run restaurants to support a fledgling tourism industry. There aren’t any Western style bars or restaurants. It’s not a beach destination. No place to just hang out.

Melt-in-your-mouth delicious squid.
But there’s a lot that Ulleungdo does have. An interesting glimpse into Korean society. Some of the most stunning scenery I’ve seen. Anywhere. Immense cliffs jutting up from the turquoise water. Mountains covered with emerald green trees. Colorful squid boats floating in harbors. The next week will focus on coverage of the few days I spent on Ulleungdo exploring the beauty of this almost undiscovered island.

Though it was difficult to get to, and not the easiest while there, Ulleungdo is a destination that should become a must see for visitors to Korea and and island whose beauty could rival more famous places in the rest of Asia.

K-Live Hologram (Music & Technology)

…..Hologram concert…..

A fantastic stage combining dance performances and K-pop star concerts……

The Klive hologram concert is designed to involve audiences into the performance with fun stories before the beginning of the hologram performance of the K-pop artists. The brilliant media facade images covering 270 degrees provide plenty to see and enjoy.

It was Saturday 26th April, a nice evening with buddies for experiencing the first ever Hologram concert in my life.
Welcome to K-Live

The venue was the 9th floor of the LOTTE FITIN departmental store at Dongdemun History and cultural park subway station (line number 2,4 and 5), was arranged to buy your favorites stars dresses and fashion articles.

How to get direction ???

It was a piece of advancement of technology and science in the field of music and art, Korea exiling their economy day by day and K-Pop has the craziest growth rate like a viral. It is just because of the a decent touch of technology, skills and their love for music. K-live Hologram concert one of the fine example of the great touch of science and technology. Originally that was a artistic piece of three dimensional images altogether with sound, lightening and environment. Creativity of the artists seems real although that was not real. K-Live Hologram was a kind of concert which was based on figuring the performance of the Korean super stars such as PSY, BigBang and 2NEI.

Korean Stars..!!!!

The atmosphere of the event was amazing just like an en environment of the club where drinks and smoke is on fire. the first performance was made by the BigBang where pretty real in their performance and snapshots taken in the gallery was used in the holography. The 2NEI was super-cool in their performance and finally the famous K-POP star PSY. The legend renowned with his song Gangnam style across the world.

Big Bang....!!!!

2NEI......!!!!!

The virtual reality touch in the 3D music was real art in the Hologram. Altogether that was a great night. Me and my buddies enjoy alot, that was an unexpected performance. I strongly recommend this to whom who love music, especially the  K-POP. It will exile your love and mind for K-POP i gues..... To make your reservation please keep in touch with K-Live Hologram Website: www.klive.co.kr.
